The Art of the Vessel

Styling the Memphis Vase with The Bouqs Co.

Two beige chairs with a patterned pillow sit by a small wooden table holding a vase of pink and orange flowers, against a light wall and polished floor.

When Geometry Meets Organic Form

In the world of interior curation, the vessel is never merely a container; it is part of the composition.

To mark the debut of the Memphis Collection, we’ve partnered with The Bouqs Co. to explore the intersection of radical geometry and organic beauty. At the heart of the collaboration is the Memphis Vase: a sculptural porcelain object defined by graphic lines, expressive color and an unapologetic silhouette.

Inspired by the unmistakable language of the Memphis design movement, the collection brings bold geometry and unexpected combinations into the home. The Memphis collection is a celebration of individuality, pairing vibrant color and geometric forms with contemporary silhouettes.

The Memphis Vase takes that philosophy beyond the table. Filled with an artfully curated selection of blooms by The Bouqs Co., it becomes a study in contrast: rigid porcelain against fluid petals, architectural geometry against organic movement.

The result is not simply a floral arrangement; it’s a dialogue between object and nature.

Expressive Color and an Unapologetic Silhouette

A statement vase changes the way flowers are approached. Rather than selecting blooms first and searching for a vessel to contain them, the Memphis Vase invites a different philosophy: begin with the architecture of the object, then allow the flowers to respond.

For this collaboration, The Bouqs Co. Lead Floral Designer, Kaylyn Hewitt Garceau, drew inspiration from the vase's distinctive vertical lines. Instead of masking the structure of the porcelain, she selected stems with contrasting silhouettes, textures and heights to amplify it.

The arrangement is intentionally sculptural. Vertical stems emphasize the Memphis Vase's architectural profile. Rounded blooms soften its geometry. Unexpected forms introduce movement and tension. Every element has a role in creating balance without sacrificing visual impact. This is the essence of sophisticated floral styling: not filling a vase, but creating a composition.

The Flowers Behind the Composition

For the Memphis Vase, The Bouqs Co. selected four distinctive small batch blooms, each chosen for the way its form interacts with the geometry of the vessel.

Rose Lilies

Rose Lilies provide an ephemeral, fluid counterpoint to the vase's rigid porcelain geometry. Their layered petals introduce softness and movement, creating a moment of organic delicacy within an otherwise architectural composition.

King Protea

With its dramatic profile and sculptural texture, King Protea acts as a natural focal point. Its distinctive silhouette reinforces the artistic character of the Memphis Vase while introducing an unexpected, almost sculptural element to the arrangement.
